2010 Frosh / Middle School Rules

 

NCAA Rules applywith the following exceptions.

 

These rules apply to youth players 15 years or younger and in grades 9 or below.

 

No players 11 years or younger or in 4th grade or lower.

 

Flag down whistle will stop play during a flag down as soon as the ball touches the ground.

 

No offensive or defensive clearing times, only 4 second goalie crease count.

 

Face off - when there is a four-point lead,the team that is behind will be given the ball on the offensive side of the midfield line by the face-off spot.The team head coach may elect to conduct a face off.

 

No take out checks defined as any check in which the player lowers his head or shoulder with the force and intent to put the other player on the ground.

 

Unsporstmanlike conduct - any player or coach who uses derogatory or profane language (i.e. starting with "damn") on the field or bench area, whether addressing a player, coach or referee may receive: First offense, 1 to 3 minute non-releasable unsportsmanlike penalty; second offense a 3 minute non-releasable foul.

 

Expulsion - game termination officials will have the authority to terminate any boy's middle school or youth game in response to flagrant acts of unsportsmanlike behavior by coaches, athletes, spectators, or fans. A game termination will be the last resort in insuring the players' safety and preserving the integrityof the game. If possible, game officials will issue at least one strong warning that the game is in danger of being terminated.

 

The game is to be played with the emphasis on the proper development of stick, team and sportsmanship skills.
